The Wattlesprigs idea began around May 1995.

Two Australian brothers came up with the idea of going on a cricket trip to England and they spoke about it with their father, Graham, who conducted his own cricket trip back in 1986. Their Father's trip being the motivating factor and of course their own passion of playing cricket in England, they decided to have a look at some of his old files. To their astonishment, most of the files contained plans that he was to going to conduct another tour in 1987.

Their Father passed away suddenly late in 1986 and of course his touring plans came to an abrupt holt. Looking over some of his original paperwork, the two brothers found the names and addresses of clubs they were set to play.

They sent over 50 letters all over England, seeking clubs to play against. The response was overwhelming and they actually had to say no to a few clubs as they couldn't fit them in.

Word spread of the trip and their original plans to take 14 cricketers blew out to 23.........They were more than happy with the quality of player and character they had attracted.

The name WATTLESPRIGS stemmed from the famous David Boon poem that sounded out after every Aussie test win.......Under the Southern Cross I stand..........All our uniforms and cricket attire have been specifically embroided with this logo.
